A summer night at the movies, out under the sky: Fairfield Parks & Recreation screens Hamilton at Mankas Park on August 28, part of the city’s free Summer Movies & Food Trucks series. Food trucks open at 6pm, and the movie rolls about fifteen minutes after sundown.
And the movie needs no introduction: critics scored Hamilton 98% on Rotten Tomatoes — “how beautifully Hamilton shines beyond Broadway,” as the site’s critics’ consensus put it — it took Best Movie Made for Television at the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the stage show it captures won eleven Tonys and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Not bad for a free night out.
No tickets needed — just bring blankets, lawn chairs and your appetite, and come early for a good spot. Power88.FM will be there with The Beat Machine, so stop by and say hello before the lights go down.
